ONE -- The Phone Call The phone call jarred me to my soul. I sat on the edge of the spring lumped bed cradling my head in my hands. I was sweating. Working Title

I have been dead for three days. The last thing I can remember—before I died—was a bright burning bolt of light hitting me in the chest. It burned a deep hole that went nearly all the way through me. The blaster shot came from a malfunctioning laser defense system on Deck 3, Corridor 4a. The blast killed me but, somehow, I had the ability to see, hear and touch. My living conscious was trapped. On a different note... I frequent the good ole dA fairly often and I've been a member for nearly 10 years.  In that time I've noticed a couple of things... One, the quality of art and artists has gone up way up! I mean, it was always good, but now the number of talented people on this site is a little intimidating.  The artists here are amazing, and I really mean that. Second I've noticed that there are more, shall we say, less than useful comments spilling onto the pages here. They range from shallow and useless to outright rude and useless, and (generally) originate from accounts that have contributed nothing to the community. Now the occ
